Brighton have officially announced the appointment of Fabian Hurzeler as the team’s new manager, replacing Roberto de Zerbi, who has parted ways with the team.

Hurzeler created a superb performance in his last season in charge of St. Pauli, winning the German Liga 2 championship, Promotion ufabet earning promotion to the Bundesliga next season.

Brighton were impressed by the 31-year-old’s skills and negotiated to bring him to the team on a three-year contract, or until 2027.

Club chairman Tony Bloom said of the new manager: “Since the start of the process to recruit a new head coach. Fabian has been an outstanding candidate and has caught our eye thanks to his outstanding performance at the helm of St. Pauli over the past 18 months. 

“Fabian has a style of play that matches the style we want Brighton to play and I’m sure it’s a style the fans will love and enjoy. We are very excited to start working together in preparation for the new season.”

At just 31 years of age, Fabian Hurzeler becomes the youngest manager in the history of the Premier League. and up to 6 people less than the players on the current team.

Brighton have been searching for the right candidate to replace Roberto de Zerbi since the Italian left at the end of the season and have held discussions with a number of contenders including their former boss Graham Potter, Steve Cooper and Malmö’s Henrik Rydstrom. 

Another target, Kieran McKenna opted to sign a new contract with Ipswich.
